**Job Title**:
Manager: Development

**Job Purpose**

The Manager: Development is responsible for achieving the PAW and other fundraising campaign goals set by the Ottawa Humane Society ( OHS )

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Develop, implement, manage, monitor, and evaluate all aspects of the PAW monthly giving program and other fundraising initiatives
- Oversee day to day operations of OHS PAW monthly giving program
- Promote monthly giving inside and outside the OHS in consultation with the Senior Manager: Development
- Develop materials to support the monthly giving program and other fundraising initiatives
- Assist in the creation and implementation of promotional plans to support the monthly giving and various other fundraising initiatives
- Oversee membership and other in-house mailings
- Assess, monitor and analyze monthly donor acquisition, retention and recovery
- Ensure the integrity of the OHS development database, donor information and electronic and paper receipts
- Reconcile campaign results with the OHS Finance Department
- Determine short
- and long-term tactics and strategies to achieve department and organizational goals
- Develop and maintain the excellent relationships with OHS donors and prospective donors
- Prepare and deliver written and verbal presentations including media appearances
- Develop, implement, evaluate and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures within assigned functional areas
- Develop, manage, and ensure adherence to department and program budgets
- Provide advice and assistance to other managers, directors, CEO, OHS Board and committees as required
- Be thoroughly familiar with and ensure adherence to pertinent legislation, regulations, guidelines, OHS mission, policies, procedures, plans and collective agreement
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of best practices and trends in fund raising, including donor stewardship and monthly giving
- Produce and maintain accurate reports, records, and files
- Manage department administrative files and human resources documents and files
- Participate in supervision, evaluation and training, and other meetings as required
- Provide training, orientation and supervision for student, volunteer, and work placements as required
- Lead and manage the advocacy department staff including orientation, training, performance management, and daily supervision
- Hire, fire and discipline staff in consultation with the Senior Manager: Development and Manager: Human Resources
- Be familiar and ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures
- Participate in the identification and evaluation of OHS program goals and objectives
- Participate in professional development opportunities
- Participate in public relations and promotional activities as required
- May be required to assume some of the responsibilities of the Senior Manager: Development

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field - fundraising preferred
- CFRE designation is an asset
- Minimum of 2 year’s progressive experience in development and fundraising
- Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience
- Advanced experience in Raiser’s Edge and ancillary programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English is required

**Working Conditions/Physical Requirements**
- Employment is conditional upon maintaining a valid driver’s license
- Employee may be required to work evening, holiday and weekend shifts
- Employment is conditional upon the ability to work around all species of animals safely
- Employment is conditional upon maintaining confidentiality of OHS information

**Salary**: $67,760.00-$74,945.00 per year
