HR ASSISTANT - LEADERSHIP & STAFF DEVELOPMENT
100%, 6 Month Term Assignment
Monday to Friday - 35 hrs per week; Hybrid Work Model
**Salary range**: $40,552 to $51,804 per annum
Under the direction of the Program Manager, Leadership and Staff Development, the HR Assistant provides administrative and secretarial support to the Division; assists with the coordination, implementation and registration of staff development activities and workshops; supports leadership and staff development initiatives; maintains spreadsheets and databases; and serves as the frontline contact to all employees requiring staff development services.
There will be some physical requirements including lifting and carrying supplies/packages of paper, boxes and files to and from workshop location. Flexibility in hours of work to accommodate early morning workshops and/or workshops that end after scheduled work day.
A certificate in office administration and 2-3 years of experience in a secretarial and administrative capacity. An HR Certificate would be considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to exchange, clarify and provide information on all aspects of OCDSB staff development initiatives.
Knowledge of human resources administration, staff development functions, relevant Board policies and procedures, relevant collective agreements and handbooks.
Ability to understand and respond to inquiries using tact, diplomacy and discretion; protects confidentiality, integrity and privacy of employee information and files.
Demonstrates initiative and good judgment skills;
Strong organizational and time management skills required to prioritize work, manage multiple and conflicting demands, and to meet established deadlines.
Demonstrates a commitment to exemplary customer service.
Ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision.
Accounting/mathematical skills required.
