- Team Lead, Group Underwiting Are you an analytical person who likes to understand complex issues and collaborate to deliver recommendations? You might be the perfect fit for our Group Underwriting team Medavie Blue Cross is growing, and so is our need for Underwriters. Whether you bring in depth experience or are an Underwriter in the making, we want to hear from you. There are multiple positions available, and once we get to know you in the interview we’ll assess where you’d fit best.

Not sure this role is for you? Underwriting is the assessment of risk to set the pricing of our services to ensure we are profitable, they are responsible for the financial and risk analysis for our organization. You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team that manages the financial profitability of our business. You will have exposure to multiple stakeholders that will move your business, strategy and analysis game to the next level. This is a great long-term career opportunity or a stepping stone into finance, sales or risk management.

You will assess risk for business, establish rates for new and existing business, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and develop effective relationships to ensure our success.

**What you need to succeed**:

- Post-secondary education in accounting, business, finance or insurance concepts and/or related experience
- Strong technical aptitude - you quickly learn new technology and complex systems, like to know they detail to ensure you know the “whole” story
- You are a problem-solving master, you understand the end goal and think creatively about how to get there
- Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- You are an effective communicator - you know how to explain your reasoning and engage others in your recommendations
- Effective analytical skills with high attention to detail;
- Functional Bilingualism, English and French comprehension is a requirement of this position.
