**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Life & Experience, in a tri-campus model, the Manager of Off-Campus Initiatives is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of staff, programs, projects, and resources designed to enhance the student experience for off-campus students on the Brantford, Waterloo, & Milton campuses. The incumbent is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the Off-Campus Initiatives Coordinators, along with their team of student staff and volunteers. They will provide recommendations to the Associate Director, Student Life & Experience regarding new programming initiatives related to off-campus students, sit on various institutional and community committees as required, initiate, and implement organizational changes as needed, and will manage the budgets associated with the off-campus student programs.

This position has a university-wide mandate and is based at the Brantford Campus. The incumbent provides leadership in a multi-campus environment, requiring regular interaction, communication and collaboration with staff and stakeholders at the Waterloo Campus, Brantford Campus, locations in Kitchener and Milton, and external partners. The Manager will ensure the unit’s policies, programs and services are delivered equitably across all campuses and reflect the needs of local stakeholders.

**Accountabilities**:
**Full-Time Staff Support**:

- Provide support & mentorship to the coordinator(s) and work together on major projects like staff training and hiring.
- Ensure standards and deadlines are met through consistent communication.
- Work with the coordinator(s) to develop programs, workshops, and events that focus on developing a student’s skillset (personal, professional, and academic etc.)
- Conduct regular check-ins with full-time staff, ensuring they are accomplishing and meeting goals and tasks.
- Plan and lead yearly retreats focused on future planning, goal setting, and reflection.
- Support coordinator-led events and programming as needed (ie: Off-Campus Orientation Day)
- Stand in for coordinators at events as needed.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive working environment for both full-time staff and student staff.
- Manage the standards and expectations of service delivery for full-time and student staff.
- Collect feedback from staff and students regarding processes, procedures, and potential areas for improvement to drive continuous improvement and innovation in department offering.
- Oversee the recruitment of student staff and peer mentors within the department.
- Collaborate with coordinators to develop student staff training programs.
- Provides leadership and supervision to staff by determining work priorities/assignments and approval of staff scheduling, creating an effective working environment for the staff.

**Laurier Off-Campus University Students Program Support**:

- Provide support to coordinator(s) to develop program structure and evaluation tactics ensuring the LOCUS program meets the unique needs of off-campus students.
- Manage the creation, implementation and success of the LOCUS House Council including developing program structures, programming expectations, training modules, etc.
