Summary

Responsibilities and tasks- Perform and organize activities to support the daily operations of the unit by ensuring that administrative services are carried out in accordance with established goals and objectives.- Implement administrative procedures or systems that are moderately complex in support of the faculty, department or unit’s operations and ensure activities meet or exceed established quality requirements.- Plan meetings, conferences, luncheons and special events. Record and distribute minutes.- Establish and foster effective working relationships by identifying needs and providing support in the delivery of services.- Assess and resolve administrative problems. When appropriate, inform supervisor and formulate recommendations.- Attend meetings

Qualifications and skills

College Diploma (DEC) or equivalent experience and academic training. Certification CALAS or AALAS (RLAT, RLATG, RMLAT) or equivalent considered an asset. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in biomedical research setting. Good knowledge of different animal species, research facility operation and Canadian Council on Animal Care guidelines. Experience in a leadership role in animal research field would be an asset. Excellent communication skills (verbally and written). Self-motivated with strong organizational skills. Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Be in possession of soft skills such as emotional intelligence, giving and receiving feedback, teamwork, change agility, problem solving, etc.
