**Position Overview**:
As the Community and Events Coordinator for the South Island Mountain Bike Society, you will support the Board of Directors to plan and carry out community events and projects, including developing communications materials and social media content to promote events and engage with the community. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for mountain biking and community involvement.

**Responsibilities May Include**:
**1. Event Planning and Execution**:

- Develop detailed event plans, including timelines, budgets, and logístical arrangements.
- Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, and partners to execute events.
- Manage event promotion and registration processes through online platforms and social media channels.
- Coordinate event setup, teardown, and on-site operations, ensuring a positive participant experience.
- Collaborate with the society’s Board of Directors to identify volunteer needs for events and other ongoing projects.

**2. Communication and Collaboration**:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for event-related inquiries from members, sponsors, and the community.
- Communicate event details, updates, and post-event evaluations to stakeholders and club members.
- Assist with the development of marketing materials, newsletters, and website content.
- Monitor the society's social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and any other relevant channels.

**3. Administrative Tasks**:

- Maintain accurate records of event budgets, expenses, and revenues.
- Prepare post-event reports and evaluations to assess outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain volunteer records, track hours, and recognize volunteer contributions.

**Qualifications and Interests**:

- Passion for mountain biking and an interest in community development.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently with a positive attitude and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with social media management, content creation, and community engagement strategies.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support event activities.
- Valid driver’s license and access to transportation for on-site event support and volunteer coordination.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week
