**Organizational Summary**

The Pacific Salmon Foundation (PSF), founded in 1987, is a federally incorporated non-profit charitable organization dedicated to the conservation and restoration of wild Pacific salmon and their natural habitats in British Columbia and the Yukon. Operating independently from government, PSF facilitates dialogue and undertakes positive initiatives in support of Pacific salmon amongst all levels of government including First Nations, as well as industry, communities, individual volunteers and all fishing interests.

**Position Overview**

The Salmon Programs Coordinator (SPC) provides direct support to the Senior Director, Salmon Programs and the Program Manager, Salmon Watersheds Program (SWP) and the overall coordination of PSF’s salmon programs. The SPC operates out of Vancouver, but travel to communities within BC may be required.

**Roles and Responsibilities**

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide direct support to the Senior Director, Salmon Programs and the Manager, Salmon Watersheds Program (SWP).
- Support staff in the implementation of salmon program projects.
- Coordinate salmon program meeting logistics, correspondence, and notes.
- Provide meeting support through notetaking, tracking of action items, and generating meeting notes for distribution.
- Help to compile, format, review, and edit material for multi-authored reports.
- Provide support in preparing presentations, including creating and refining PowerPoint slides with an emphasis on design, animations, and ensuring visual consistency.
- Work with external visual designer to produce program communication materials.
- Update and maintain the program materials on program-specific domains of the PSF website.
- Generate workshop/meeting notes and summaries for external meetings, identify action items resulting from workshops/meetings, and support program staff in tracking action items and reporting back to committees.
- Support senior staff in the development of new projects or activities by curating the best available information, identifying potential issues and constraints, and organizing appropriate follow up including development of meetings, agendas, presentations and talking points.
- Other duties as required.

**Exercising Judgment/Impact of Decisions**

The SPC will exercise independent judgment and take initiative while performing their duties. The SPC will be accountable for the effective execution of assigned duties which is critical to the success of the PSF. The SPC interacts with varying levels of staff, consultants and other stakeholders. Errors or lapses in judgment will adversely impact the reputation and efficiency of the PSF.

**Reporting and Supervision**

Supervised by the Program Manager of the Salmon Watersheds Program, the SPC is responsible for undertaking all work identified by the Program Manager and meeting or exceeding the standard of care set by the Director.

**Qualifications**
- An undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g., natural resource management, fisheries, ecology, geography, environmental studies), plus a minimum of two years of work experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in project management and administration and/or communications is preferred. This role requires exceptional organizational skills and familiarity with program planning tools such as workflow charts and other work planning approaches.
- Advanced computer skills in document creation (e.g., Word, Adobe, Excel, PowerPoint) are required.
- Excellent English writing and communication skills and strong attention to detail are essential.
- Experience working for a not-for-profit team environment with similar responsibilities is preferred.
- Other required qualifications include strong attention to detail; the ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines; ability to work with little instruction/supervision and to work effectively and collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams; ability to multi-task; and the ability to exercise tact, discretion, diplomacy and maintain confidentiality.

The PSF is committed to life-long learning for all team members. Ongoing mentoring will be available to facilitate the SWPC’s career development and appropriate training and skill-building opportunities will be provided. Educational opportunities will be encouraged.

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
