Reporting to the VP Finance & Support Services, the Decision Support Analyst is responsible for the reporting and

analysis of corporate and program-level performance data and standards. This individual supports the organization

through the maintenance of processes related to mandatory external data submissions and reporting. The Analyst responds

to routine ad hoc data requests to promote evidence-based decision making and meet the needs of hospital stakeholders in

a timely manner.

**QUALIFICATIONS: **

College diploma in Health Administration, Business, Health Information, or Information Technology Program
3 years’ experience in health care data management, including data analysis and report generation** **
Understanding coding and abstracting software (SQL coding, expert, tableau, statistics experience)***

**EFFORT: **

Minimal physical effort
High degree of mental effort

**POSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: **

Provide support in the maintenance of a large number of reporting processes performed within the Decision
Support function on a routine basis as part of its core services to support the hospital through performance

measurement and reporting

Extracts data from various internal and third-party systems, and synthesizes user friendly, meaningful reports
Ability to prepare and analyze complex reports; optimize existing technology to automate current manual

reporting processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness; create complex queries to expose trends within

specific indicators

Strong written and oral communication skills
Relationship management
Ability to anticipate and respond to client needs in a timely and effective manner and keep team members

informed about issues

Supports projects (eg QI initiatives) related to strategic and operational goals
Handles routine ad hoc analysis and questions from various hospital stakeholders, with team support as required
Conducts regular data audits
Educates stakeholders as to various reports available from the organization’s Business Intelligence solution and

provides analysis support

Participates in other processes related to mandatory external reporting submissions and ad hoc performance
reporting as required

Link patient data with financial and statistical
Support Quality and Patient safety initiatives
Lead, support or participate in key activities or action plans as identified on applicable Operational Plans
Active member of applicable team/unit/department meetings and huddles.

**HOURS OF WORK**:Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs/wk
