Junior Financial Analyst

Wescast is currently recruiting for a **Junior Financial Analyst **for our North American Business Unit located in Wingham, Ontario.

This position is responsible for preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting for the Wingham operations. Provides in-depth analysis of monthly operational/financial performance. Also supports the planning, product costing, capital project cost control and quoting processes.

**TASKS**:

- Prepare monthly financial statements, operational reports and commentary analysis. Includes flex budget preparation, inventory reconciliations, preparation and posting of journal entries, calculation of inventory reserves and revaluations, variance analysis, completion of various balance sheet account reconciliations and identification of opportunities for improvement.
- Support the development of forecasts and budgets (operating, capital and cash flow)
- Lead the annual standard data update in the ERP system (T4M, PLEX & IDEAS) including material, labour and overhead rates. Includes the final review and verification that overheads are fully absorbed into standard costs.
- Lead the annual process to update steady state financial models and rates to be incorporated into the quoting software.
- Support transfer pricing activities and the foreign currency hedging program.
- Fixed Asset Administration
- a. Maintains fixed assets sub ledger ensuring acquisitions, dispositions and transfers are recorded in an accurate and timely manner
- b. Posts information into project cost control sheets and reconciles to the general ledger for each
- c. Establishes and maintains a fixed asset identification system
- d. Analysis of fixed asset gains and losses
- e. Maintains fixed assets continuity schedule
- f. Completes fixed assets audit on a cyclical basis
- g. Reviews project records for accuracy and completeness prior to PAC meetings Conducts post project implementation audits as per the Fixed Assets policy
- Support the external audit process by answering questions and gathering requested information for the auditors
- Support/preparation of regular ebit projections
- Ensure interplant accounts are reconciled on an ongoing basis
- Perform and validate ERP system interfaces, as applicable
- Communicate required financial information to operations (QMS, EOS, KPI, inventory values, etc) and complete Finance scorecard file
- Recommend changes, implement and ensure compliance with Bill C-198 documentation (flowcharts, narratives, and internal control matrix)
- Liaise with others in the organization to share information, resolve problems and provide support
- Support the Wescast Way and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
- Work very close with operation to understand the process, scrap, Standard costing ,etc.
- Prepare bank reconciliation for different banks
- Make sure that the company is compliant with Tax authorities (Tax return, HST filing on Time)

- Train and share knowledge with co-workers to make sure business is running during vacation, sick leaves, etc.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience with an emphasis on costing, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
- Proven ability to communicate effectively through various means with internal and external customers
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs such as MS Office
- Flexible work hours required
