Based on the edge of Canmore on the benchlands of Grotto Mountain, the Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) operates a 60-bed hostel and 26 backcountry huts that are located through-out the Canadian Rockies. We are an affiliate with Hosteling International and enjoy many reciprocal benefits between the two organizations. We are seeking highly motivated applicants with guest service experience and a passion for the mountain environment.

**Overview:f**

The Hostel Manager will oversee the operations of the HI Canmore Clubhouse Hostel. This position will work with a small, friendly and passionate team, providing leadership to ensure delivery of a great hostel experience. The Hostel Manger leads our front desk, reservations and housekeeping teams, ensuring smooth operations that produce excellent guest satisfaction while striving to achieve sales and revenue goals and increasing fiscal performance.

**Primary duties**:

- Manage the reservations and housekeeping teams, including recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management.
- Manage the reservations process for ACC products (Huts and Hostel), utilizing our Property Management System and OTA Connections.
- Build, maintain and execute an annual budget for the ACC Clubhouse Hostel.
- Maintain statistical and financial records, including monthly reports for BC Parks and HI Hostels.
- Promote and market the HI Canmore Clubhouse Hostel to achieve occupancy and revenue targets.
- Inspect hostel facilities to ensure housekeeping standards are maintained and to identify any H&S or maintenance concerns.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks including smaller DIY tasks, painting and outdoor maintenance.
- Manage group, wedding and school reservations at the Clubhouse and lotteries for high demand huts.
- Resolve customer issues, complaints, problems in a quick, efficient manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality service.

**We want to hear from you, if you**:

- Have a positive and engaging personality, and a familiarity with the ACC.
- Have previous travel and hostel experience or experience in a customer service position.
- Strong computer knowledge and experience in MS Office and Property Management Systems
- Have strong computer skills and are proficient at setting priorities and multi-tasking.
- Are business generalist with a wide range of previous experience in operations, maintenance and guest services.
- Are detail oriented, friendly and are committed to providing a great experience to our guests.
- A 2nd language is an asset
