Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at The Canmore Hotel Hostel. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and high-quality food.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Food Service Staff

Supervise and coordinate the activities of food service staff, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of our guests.

Estimate and Manage Food and Supplies

Estimate the quantity of food and supplies required for meal preparation, and manage inventory to ensure that we have sufficient stock to meet demand.

Hire and Train Food Service Staff

Recruit, hire, and train food service staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge required to provide exceptional service to our guests.

Ensure Quality Control

Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, and take corrective action when necessary to maintain high standards.

Address Customer Complaints

Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, and take steps to resolve issues promptly.

Maintain Records and Reports

Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, and prepare reports as required to inform management decisions.

Prepare Food Order Summaries

Prepare food order summaries for the chef, ensuring that they have the information they need to prepare meals efficiently.

Supervise Tray Assembly

Supervise and check the assembly of trays to ensure that they are presented in a clean and attractive manner.

Establish Work Schedules

Establish work schedules for food service staff, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of our guests.

Requirements
  • Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a food service role

Language

Fluent in English

Work Schedule

30 to 40 hours per week
