The **Coordinator, Academic Programming and EDI is a full-time continuing** position tasked with providing administrative support to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic (PVPA) to optimize short

**Responsibilities**:

- Provides/interprets/reinforces the PVPA’s directives and coordinates the execution of short-range plans and operations with units that report to the PVPA and external units.
- Supports daily administrative operations and communications.
- Coordinates cyclical review of academic unit plans.
- Supports the coordination of academic programming and EDI academic best practices, and works with Human Resources in relation to best EDI practices.
- Keeps the PVPA informed on emerging issues, coordinates events, special concerns, and other information of strategic importance or interest.
- Provides assistance to the PVPA and other Senior Administrators related to the coordination, preparation and distribution of highly confidential, time-sensitive documents.
- Develops initial draft of the Provost’s reports, summarizing and clearly communicating information.
- Creates and designs a newsletter, highlighting recent news and events within portfolio, and maintains the PVPA website.
- Prepares regular updates to Faculties on academic matters specific to the PVPA office.
- Upon request, drafts speeches, speaking notes for the PVPA ensuring accuracy and conformity to policies, procedures and rules.
- Provides communication support for strategic and operational initiatives.
- Holds regular debriefing sessions with PVPA and identify activities arising from one-on-one meetings and other interactions.
- Supports meetings the PVPA and Director, Academic Programming Officer and EDI attend by gathering/researching information.
- Maintains records of requested activities, and informs responsible parties of actions, requirements and timelines, providing reminders and follow-up
- Provides regular reports on activities and projects to Director, Academic Programming Officer and EDI.
- Maintains records of annual objectives for PVPA, documents any changes.
- Tracks policy and unit audit updates.
- Provides back up support to the Administrative Officer - PVPA.
- Provides support to the Senior Leadership team for internal and external events.

**Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate degree; graduate degree preferred.
- At least 5 years directly related administrative experience.
- Experience working in a highly confidential environment with the ability to act with tact and diplomacy.
- Experience with updating website data and communications.
- Experience working in flexible, online environments and familiar with online platforms and communication systems.
- Skilled in working both independently and cooperatively and in office management in high profile environments.
- Knowledge of University operations/procedures is an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to provide sound advice and guidance to all levels of employees, staff and students at the University.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to use tact, discretion and professionalism in human relations and confidential matters - maintain effective working relationships with all levels internally and externally.
- Outstanding ability to cope with varying demands for attention and changing priorities.
- Ability to with a large volume of materials accurately and effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Strong ability to use judgement when decision making when dealing with senior level executives and internal/external communities.

**Condition(s) of Employment**:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

**The salary range for this position will be from $87,156 to $110,407 annually.
