**Our Team**:
The Specialist, Business Planning Strategic Projects provides business analysis for Near Surface Deposits and or Joint Ventures across our North Atlantic Operations.

**The Opportunity**

We are currently seeking a **Specialist, Business Planning Strategic Projects **to join our team in **Sudbury **. This is a **permanent, **position.

The position will report to the Manager Operational Readiness, Strategic Business Project and will provide business related guidance on projects within the asset pipeline stream. The role will focus on delivering business and economic milestones on each project.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Focus on Value Engineering Front End Loading (FEL) study phases for Near Surface deposits and Joint Ventures.
- Consider the current and future impacts of Near Surface deposits and Joint Ventures in relation to Business Risk, Risk and Safety, Finance, Labour, Labour Relations, Community, First Nations, Environment, and Vale’s reputation.
- Partner and communicate regularly with internal stakeholders including Business Strategy, Legal, Public Affairs and Sustainability, Labour Relations, Human Resources, Environment, Technical Services, Mining and Milling, Business Development leaders in Base Metals.
- Communicate and partner with external stakeholders including other mining companies, mining consultant agencies, community, and indigenous partners.
- Lead Business Planning for the Near Surface Deposits from project stages to operations hand over.
- Provide business planning and economic evaluation to the Near Surface Deposits program looking for opportunities to accelerate the implementation as well as grow the portfolio.
- Investigation into brownfield and greenfield deposits that could be brought forward economically into the Sudbury plan.
- Liaison between Project Teams and Vale Operations and technical groups in matters relating to the Near Surface deposits portfolio.
- Accountable for the coordination of the economics and schedule behind the development of the operations hiring plan and the onboarding of personnel required to operate the facility.
- For the project execution phase supports the Operational Readiness (OR) lead on cost and KPI management.
- Participation in business reports and engagement with partners to ensure operations are managed on budget and on schedule.
- Developing, coordinating, and validating Opex and Capex yearly budget for the Strategic Business Projects group.
- Managing, analyzing, and reporting cost expenditure during the year, including deviation analysis and forecasting.
- Developing and managing all KPI routines, including compliance with all Vale Production System (VPS) standards.

**About You**

**Education**:

- Undergraduate degree in Business or Economics is required.
- Completed Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or in progress

**Experience**:

- 8-10 years of Business-related experience or Consulting experience is preferred.

**Skills**:

- Ability to influence without authority.
- Change Management knowledge and/or training.
- Critical thinking skills, taking ownership for the whole.
- SME in Business and system process maps.
- Value diversity of thought and ability to manage expectations from multiple stakeholders to deliver on planned work.

- Experience in a previous corporate strategy related function.
