Are you passionate about Total Rewards and Payroll? If so, Women’s College Hospital is seeking a permanent full-time Manager, Total Rewards and Payroll. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources and Volunteer Services the Manager, Total Rewards and Payroll provides oversight in the areas of Total Rewards (compensation, benefits, rewards and recognition), HRIS Systems and Payroll. The incumbent will lead the HR Team in the provision of advice and guidance with respect to services, policies, processes, programs and projects that support the employee life cycle. Using the Corporate Strategic Plan and People Strategy as a roadmap, the Manager will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to develop and implement creative solutions aligned with the Hospital's mission, vision and strategic direction.

**_Strategic Leadership and HR Direction_**
- In collaboration with the Director, assists with coordinating and developing departmental goals, objectives, policies, procedures and practices consistent with the short and long-term strategic plans of the Hospital.
- Keeps current with and research upcoming changes in legislation and ensure changes are implemented and communicated.
- Develops, recommends, implements and evaluates Total Rewards and Payroll policies, systems, practices and procedures.
- Regularly review processes and practices with the mindset of continuous improvement using the Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) approach, recommending opportunities for increased efficiencies and cost savings.

**_Department and Team Management_**
- Provides leadership for the Total Rewards and Payroll team in a manner that promotes the delivery of optimum levels of service in a manner consistent with the short and long-term strategic directions of the organization.
- Manages team and sets individual and team goals.
- Provides operational leadership to the Human Resources team regarding the delivery of Human Resources services including payroll, compensation, job evaluation, benefits, pension, recognition, and systems and organizational design.
- Conducts relevant training and presentations for the HR team and leaders, staff etc.

**_Strategic Total Rewards and Payroll_**
- Ensure proper security in the payroll system is met, segregation of duties between payroll and human resources teams, and enhancing and maintaining proper auditing of the data to ensure data integrity is maintained.
- Leads Total Rewards and Payroll strategies to attract, motivate, develop and retain top talent.
- Manages the compensation and benefits programs and processes, including leading the Job Evaluation Committee.
- Manages and administers the internal and external compensation and benefits analysis ensuring competitiveness and alignment to the compensation philosophy.
- Leads annual total rewards review, recommending total rewards changes in a briefing note to the Operations Committee board.
- Liaises with Payroll provider to ensure system is programmed correctly, for all deductions and payments and is legislatively compliant, producing accurate payroll processing.
- Manages Pay Equity analysis and ensures salaries are inline to support pay equity legislation, and where needed makes recommendations.
- Designs and introduces organizational wide incentive rewards and recognition programs.
- Plans, develops and monitors service standards and metrics for the Total Rewards and Payroll team’s processes; reviews trends and develops and implements plans for process or performance improvement.

**Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree Human Resources, Commerce, Business Administration or other related area required.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in progressive leadership role, with oversight and accountability for a team providing full scope Total Rewards and Payroll Services in a fast paced, unionized organization.
- Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration preferred.
