Why is this role important?
- The Health System Performance Reporting (HSPR) team plays an important role in the calculation and dissemination of health system measures for stakeholders across the country. The Project Lead is a key member of the team responsible for leading the development, analysis, compilation, verification and dissemination of a set of indicators intended to provide the public, health system decision-makers, health care professionals and researchers with reliable and comparable data on various dimensions of health system performance. The Project Lead also leads client support activities and works closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- What you'll do
- 1. Provides leadership and guidance to internal staff. Coaches the team of analysts and senior analysts on the relevant methodological and technical issues. Provides input to annual performance management reviews as assigned.
- 2. Leads development, production and dissemination of a set of indicators, including developing and maintaining indicator definitions and supporting documentation, identifying appropriate internal/external data sources, and calculation and verification of the indicator data.
- 3. Leads the methodological reviews of indicators, including the relevant data analyses and literature reviews, while working closely with the Senior Methodologist and other team members.
- 4. Creates and delivers communication materials for stakeholder consultations; liaises with internal/external stakeholders regarding upcoming private and public data releases; leads/supports communication to stakeholders, including relevant communication materials and documentation.
- 5. Participates in the design, development, and dissemination of policy-relevant information products targeted at specific stakeholder groups.
- 6. Leads client support activities, including technical/methodological inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, data requests and ad hoc analyses to support special studies, liaising with key stakeholders to fully define data and/or analytical requirements.
- 7. Leads or co-leads projects involving team members or multiple teams. Leads project management related activities, including project charter and timelines, taking responsibility for ensuring that activities are carried out in accordance with project plan.
- 8. Develops and maintains detailed knowledge of CIHI’s data holdings, related data held by other organizations, and tools used by CIHI to access these data holdings and perform analyses.
- 9. Maintains current knowledge about analytical techniques, health services and population health research, health system performance, and stakeholder information needs.
- 10. Establishes and maintains links with relevant regional, provincial, and national organizations. Contributes to the promotion of CIHI products and services through participation on committees, presentations and/or attendance at conferences, and other activities, representing CIHI externally as required.
- 11. Participates in the development of operational planning and corporate reporting for the department. Participates in branch leadership and on CIHI project teams as required.
- What you'll bring to the table
- Graduate degree in epidemiology, health services research, health administration, public health, health information, biostatistics or similar field, or equivalent education/experience.
- Minimum five years related experience.
- Demonstrated expertise with health system performance indicators and dissemination of information.
- Substantial project management experience.
