What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Clinical Support Specialist your typical day will impact the following ways:
Oversees designated assessment tool or software to assess care needs to determine corresponding care fees & team staffing requirements as applicable;
Supports the Directors and Managers of Wellness (DOW/MOW) to assess the needs of individual residents and develops their personal service plans in accordance with Provincial Regulations; communicates deployment to wellness team members;
Monitors all resident incidents and directs team members regarding interventions to prevent reoccurrence as applicable;
Monitors team member compliance with policy on Monitoring Resident Well Being and ensures follow-up is completed as required.
Supports the DOW/MOW to monitor symptoms and changes in the health state of residents and prepares related reports;
Resident and Family Relations
Assists the DOW/MOW with communicating changes in care needs to residents/families related to potential increases in care service costs;
Supports the DOW/MOW to prepare residents/families for higher levels of care/potential discharge and need for family conference. Participates in Care Conferences with DOW/MOW as required.
Facilitates with the DOW/MOW family interviews and problem solving in relations to all aspects of care services.

Human Resources:
Assists the DOW/MOW with the management of team members in accordance with policies and provincial legislation;
Supports the DOW/MOW in the recruitment, selection, orientation, supervision, development and performance management of Guest Attendants/Resident Care Aides, Unregulated Care Providers, PSW’s; Medication Care Partners and Registered Staff;
Marketing
Develops professional and collaborative relationship with hospital team members, community health care professionals to establish strong referral relationships;
Participates in marketing outreach such as, presentations on wellness services and aging in place philosophy;
General Administration
Completes biannual audits of all charts/files to ensure all required documentation to meet legislative and organization standards of practice;
Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of organization policies and procedures; ensures residence compliance;
Prepares short and medium-term objectives, activities and development projects related to the wellness in order to respond to needs;
Occupational Health & Safety:
Participates in education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness;
Ensures all standards related to personal hygiene and environment are applied,
Conducts scheduled infection control, occupational health audits ( quarterly) per region and as needed;
Ensures all standards related to infection control are implemented and followed in region
Provides support to DOW/MOW with outbreak management

Financial Management
Supports DOW/MOW to administer their approved budget within established parameters;
Ensures that the DOW/MOW follow the correct policy and procedure for assessments and service plans to ensure correct care related charges and revenue generation
Monitors and promotes care services on a fee for service basis to achieve financial targets

Program Management
Assist with program implementation across the division
Assist with Policy development and Maintenance
Educates Wellness team on various programs (EHRx, IPAC & Care related)
Supports Onboarding and Ongoing training of Wellness Teams
Assists with Provincial Regulatory Education for General Managers and Directors/Managers of Wellness
