The Clinical Informatics Specialist role focuses on the integration of computer and communications technologies and clinical change initiatives that enhance evidence-based clinical practices, access to patient/client information and clinical documentation via the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in collaboration with clinical leaders, service and program managers and directors, physicians, and staff.

The position will provide day-to-day integrated oversight to ensure alignment, project delivery of Clinical Informatics initiatives, identification of impediments to delivery and adoption to support STEGH’s strategic direction and digital health strategy. In addition, this position serves as a Clinical Informatics representative for internal and regional Clinical Informatics activities that increase the effectiveness, efficiency, accountability and sustainability of clinical initiatives that assist in the successful adoption of integrated digital health tools, including the EHR.

In addition to the above, some of the primary responsibilities include:

- Support the Chief Information Officer, Manager of Digital Health and STEGH stakeholders in planning and prioritizing activities to support the organization’s Digital Health strategy.
- Provides support to providers, nursing and clinical staff to incorporate advances in clinical informatics and the development of electronic health records into practice.
- Informs the design, development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of electronic health information systems and their related standards, protocols and procedures to support clinical uptake of electronic health and information records.
- Support clinical data analytics and clinical business intelligence within STEGH by ensuring systems are designed and implemented to facilitate ease of reporting and analysis.
- Provides and evaluates clinical systems training that meets the learning needs of the system end users.

**HOURS**:
This position must be available to work 37.50 hours per week. In addition, this position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required.

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:

- Regulated health professional, in good standing with their associated regulatory body
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience of clinical experience in a hospital setting, with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of clinical processes and data integration systems
- Minimum of two (2) years’ previous experience in clinical informatics in a hospital environment is preferred
- Experience and knowledge of clinical accountabilities and skills across the continuum of care and opportunities through digital health tools
- Working knowledge of LEAN methodologies and value stream mapping
- Process-centric thinking: ability to decompose process steps and analyze opportunities
- Self-directed individual, able to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent interpersonal skills to enable interaction and communication with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Team and customer focused with the ability to communicate respectfully in a pleasant, flexible and professional manner with all patients, families, staff and volunteers
- Open to change and is proactive to departmental and organizational initiatives
- Demonstrated leadership progression through critical thinking, conflict resolution, project participation, committee involvement, regional partnerships, collaboration and system wide thinking
- Understanding of computers, software, and the ability to leverage these tools in a health care setting
- Demonstrated dependable and acceptable performance and attendance record
