Our specialist surgeon clinic in Nanaimo, BC is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team.

This is a temprorary or permanent, part time position of 5-10 hours per week, working during normal business hours from Monday to Friday. A hybrid model of remote work and in-person work is negotiable. This position is also for On-Call sick coverage and holiday coverage when applicable.

The clinic is conveniently located across the Nanaimo Hospital with ample access to public transit.

**The primary duties of a Medical Office Assistant may include**:

- Use EMR software (Accuro) to maintain patient records, book appointments, and organize waitlists
- Schedule surgical bookings
- Greet and check in patients
- Remind and confirm appointments
- Instruct patients to complete intake forms and questionnaires
- Operate office equipment such as faxes, photocopiers, answering machines, document scanners
- Keep office and examination room orderly
- Perform other duties as required

**Preferred qualifications and skills**:

- MOA Training: Diploma or Certificate
- Previous experience is an asset
- Accuro EMR experience
- Fluent English skills - both written and spoken
- Be adept at multi-tasking
- Enjoy greeting and interacting with patients
- Ability to organize own time and work independently

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual, Permanent
Part-time hours: 5-10 per week

**Salary**: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
