The Sheriff’s Branch is dedicated to promoting safe and resilient communities, performing a wide range of activities in collaboration with other law enforcement and policing partners in Alberta. In addition to the office of the Chief, there are five directorates within the Branch: Court Security Services (CSS), Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Services (FWES), Protection, Communication, and Investigative Services (PCIS), Operational Support Services (OSS) and Sheriff Highway Patrol Services (SHPS).

**Role Responsibilities**:
As the Digital Evidence Coordinator, you will manage digital systems critical to the Sheriffs Branch, including body-worn cameras (BWCs), in-car digital video (ICDV) systems, and the Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS). Reporting to the Manager of Technology & Information Service, you will supervise the Digital Systems Technologists and the Media Disclosure Analysts to ensure system functionality, legal compliance, and timely processing of digital evidence.

Key responsibilities include:

- **Team Leadership**: Supervise Digital Systems Technologists in system installation and troubleshooting, and Media Disclosure Analysts in preparing and managing court-ready multimedia evidence.
- **Digital Evidence Management**: Ensure digital media records meet legal standards, from secure storage to timely disclosure. Oversee multimedia processing, including redaction and data integrity checks.
- **System Integration and Maintenance**: Lead the integration of BWCs, ICDV systems, and related technologies with operational systems, ensuring reliability and mínimal downtime.
- **User Training and Support**: Develop and deliver training on digital recording systems. Provide technical support and resolve user issues.
- **Stakeholder Collaboration**:Work with internal teams and external stakeholders, including Crown prosecutors and FOIP officers, to meet legal requirements and deadlines.
- **Technology Advancement**: Research and implement new audio/video technologies. Participate in procurement and system upgrades to enhance performance.

**Qualifications**:

- A two-year technical diploma in a related field and 6 years of related experience.

**Equivalencies will be considered**:

- Directly related education or experience will be considered on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
