**Job Statement**

Duties of an IT Support Technician may vary significantly according to the needs of the company in an environment where change is prevalent. IT Technicians interact with employees at both the coworker and executive level. They manage a variety of advanced computer systems. A customer-oriented approach is required to ensure a premium quality of service. Main responsibilities and duties of an IT Technician may include:
**Responsibilities**
- Serving as the first point of contact for users needing technical assistance with network issues, server access and external monitoring services either on premise or remotely
- Setting up computers, phones and necessary peripheral devices (headsets, printers, IoT devices, etc.)
- Ensuring proper maintenance and configuration to specifications of IT hardware, software and peripherals
- Capable of effectively troubleshooting end users' requests and supplying step by step instructions in solving the issues that may arise to the client
- Effectively and promptly communicating with other IT team members when additional assistance is required
- Processing, executing or transferring inbound service tickets appropriately while adding to the knowledge database pertinent information in the resolution of a request
- Following-up and updating user status and information with ongoing support requests
- Developing and maintaining local networks including upgrades/maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
- Validation of backups and simple file recovery
- Performing backup system tape switchovers

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience as a support technician or other customer support role
- Tech savvy with working knowledge of office automation products, databases and remote assistance tools
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other technical products
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
- Bilingual (verbal & written)
- The IT Support Technician will need to communicate and write clearly in both French and English since the individual will be dealing with users within Quebec as well as other provinces across Canada.
- Excellent communication ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft products, Microsoft Azure, VMWare, Cisco and Fortinet is an asset
- BSc/BA in IT, Computer Science or relevant field/ experience
