**About the Role**
Reporting to the Director, Payroll, the **Human Resources Assistant** will provide day-to-day support to the HR and Payroll team. This position is located in our Gatineau, Quebec office and requires 3 days/week on-site work.
**Key Responsibilities**
*** Payroll Support**
- Perform data entry using Excel spreadsheet
- Review discrepancies in data received, requests clarification or advises direct manager of issues related to data and performs data verification routines in accordance with company procedures
- Follow up with people managers on outstanding employees' timesheets
- Ensure all data is delivered and processed in accordance with set deadlines
- Administer Records of Employment
- Handle highly sensitive data with confidentiality and integrity
**HR Support**
- Post jobs in French and English on various platforms, including LinkedIn, school boards, and employment centres
- Schedule interviews, both in-person and via video and arrange the required logistics
- Generate reports as needed
- General administrative duties: maintaining electronic filing systems, scanning, photocopying, and arranging couriers
- with ad-hoc projects or analysis as required
**Knowledge and Experience Required**
- 1+ years of experience in similar role
- Working knowledge of payroll legislation, accounting practices and principles, and compliance
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team player
**Nice to have**:
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, knowledge of formulas an asset
- Experience with UKG UltiPro an asset
- Knowledge of labor union collective agreements an asset
Note: Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Brookfield’s identity. This position requires the employee to be on-site for a minimum of 3 days to perform most effectively. We will reassess the approach on a as needed basis.
