Program Manager, Precision Health Graduate Program

**Description**
The **Precision Health Graduate Program** in the **Cumming School of Medicine** is currently seeking a Full-time Regular **Program Manager**.
The Precision Health Graduate Program (PHP) Manager reports to the Graduate Program Director (GPD) and works closely with the GPD, Graduate Program Administrator (GPA), and instructional staff in a cross-functional and collaborative team environment. The position may require the ability to work some evenings as the PHP offers courses in the evening.
The position's primary purpose is to manage aspects of the Precision Health Program to ensure effective and efficient planning and delivery of courses and student activities.
**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Assists the GPD in the overall management of the program
- Participates in strategic planning initiatives and implementation of strategic priorities
- Supports the achievement of program objectives, implements program priorities, and introduces efficiencies and improvements through stakeholder engagement and continuous evaluation
- Develops program-specific policies and processes related to course design and delivery and supports instructors and teaching assistants in the delivery and improvement of courses
- Supports recruitment, hiring, and training of student GAT, GANT, and other management roles in the Precision Health Program. The position may oversee some roles
- Develops materials and resources to orient new instructors and staff members to the program
- Participates in and supports initiatives to enhance the work environment and business operations
- Maintains compliance with all University policies and procedures
- Manages program website updates in consultation with the GPD and GPA
- Liaises with the Canadian College of Health Leaders re: the Certified Health Executive designation and supporting the 3-year partnership renewal process
- Instructional Support:
- Maintains course and program repositories, files, shared folders and documents
- Contributes to the design, development, and continual improvement of the overall program and its courses in collaboration with instructors and the GPD
- Maintains the PHP Instructor & Sessional D2L
- Acts as a resource for new instructors and staff members to help them navigate the program and become familiar with D2L
- Works with the Registrar, GPD, and instructional staff to coordinate scheduling of courses, lectures and labs
- Facilitates program, certificate and course approvals through UCalgary committees
- Alumni Relations & Engagement:
- Collaborates with University departments (e.g., University Relations and Alumni Relations) and PHP alumni to develop and highlight alumni activities
- Develops and maintains the PHP alumni database
- Coordinates seminars, workshops, and networking events in collaboration with PHP alumni
- Identifies opportunities for alumni to mentor students or become involved in the PHP in collaboration with the GPD
**Qualifications / Requirements**:
- A relevant Master's degree, plus a minimum of five years of relevant post-secondary experience in educational program management and evaluation, competency-based adult education, curriculum development and delivery, and instructional design
- Experience with D2L, the University of Calgary online learning and learning management system
- Ability to independently perform multiple and complex tasks, with attention to detail and business processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong customer service orientation. This role has frequent interactions with students, instructors, staff, University departments
- Strong working knowledge Microsoft Office Professional (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Experience with communications and marketing is an asset
- Teaching experience in online and virtual environments is an asset Experience in health professions education is an asset
