The successful applicant will be part of a growing Pediatric Neuromuscular research program. This position will include the coordination of clinical trials and phlebotomy for research studies within various sections of the department. The applicant will be responsible for the overall implementation and coordination of their assigned studies.

**The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to**:

- Coordinating and scheduling study visits participant and their families
- Study participant visits
- Protocol assessments
- Questionnaire collection
- Communication with study sponsors and monitors
- Phlebotomy
- Vitals and data collection
- Lab sample processing
- Maintaining the clinic’s research SOPs, essential study documents and study files
- Assisting with Research Ethics Board submissions and correspondence
- Manuscript, abstract and poster review, editing and submissions

**Rate of Pay**: To commensurate with experience
**Hours of Work**: 37.5 hours per week
**Duration**: One year, with possibility of renewal

**Qualifications**:

- Medical Laboratory Assistant diploma or equivalent
- Medical Laboratory Professional association designation and current license
- GCP and IATA training an asset
- Experience in paediatric phlebotomy, minimum 2 years phlebotomy experience preferred
- Clinical Research experience an asset
- Experience with REDCap, Powerchart, EDC and IWRS preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficient time management skills, ability to meet tight deadlines
- Responsible and self-motivated with the ability to take initiative in an environment with limited supervision
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments in a timely manner
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Experience with manuscript preparation preferred
- Experience with Research Ethic Board submission and correspondence an asset
- Working knowledge or prior experience in Human Research Ethics, Tri-council policy, Good Clinical Practices, Health Canada and FDA regulations an asset
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient time management skills, ability to meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
