Dr. Anthony Tang, in conjunction with the Clinical Trials Coordinating Centre (CTCC) and the Cardiac Arrhythmia Network of Canada (CANet) is recruiting for a Research Associate. The Research Associate will interact with a cross-country team of Doctors, Scientists, Biostatisticians, and Research Coordinators as part of furthering Dr. Tang and CANet’s virtual care research projects..

Responsibilties of this position include:

- Develop algorithms alongside expert clinicians based on the most up to date clinical practice guidelines
- Conduct systematic reviews and literature searches, including providing guidance to research students assisting with this task
- Develop study contracts in conjunction with research lawyers for study related activities with collaborating sites
- Develop study protocols in collaboration with the study steering committee
- Provide administrative support for meetings, including scheduling, agendas and background material, produce and distribute minutes and ensure follow-up of action items
- Coordinate and submit research grants
- Collect and/or draft letters of support
- Develop grants for federal and internal competitions and generate project budgets
- Report on study progress
- Patient engagement activities, in coordination with the patient engagement liaison
- Work with the Data Manager to create REDCap Study Databases
- Contact and on-board sites for multi-centre studies
- Perform site training and orientations including acting as the point-of-contact for data collection and general troubleshooting
- Manage financial accounts for various research projects including tracking of all incoming and outgoing funds and preparation of invoices for research related activities
- Prepare for board meetings and organize research conferences
- Present study progress and interim data to board members

**Rate of Pay**:To commensurate with experience

**Hours of work**: 37.5 hours per week

**Duration**: One year, renewable

**Qualifications**:

- Thesis-based Master's Degree required
- Minimum of 5 years recent related experience in a similar role; preferably in a research environment
- Experience with clinical practice guidelines an asset
- Experience systematic review processes including PROSPERO registration, management tools (i.e., Covidence, Rayyan) and databases (i.e., Medline, EMBASE, Cinhal) an asset
- Publication experience (a minimum of 10 peer-reviewed publications) an asset
- Prior experience submitting to granting agencies (i.e., Weston Family Foundation, CIHR) an asset
- Experience managing and keeping track of research funds an asset
- Interpersonal and communication skills in a research, clinical or medical setting required
- Organizational time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced research environment required
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
