The Corporation of the City of Orillia has an opening for the full-time position of Culture Coordinator in the Recreation, Culture & Youth Services division of the Corporate Services department.

**DUTIES**
- Provide advice and consultation to the cultural sector for their organization growth and development to expand and strengthen cultural planning and resources in the city.
- Responsible for oversight of Cultural programming and/or community development throughout the City as it relates to recreation, culture or the Corporation as a whole.
- Identify different funding initiatives, coordinate and consolidate information and data for grant proposals for recreation and culture initiatives.
- Responsible for the coordination of video boards existing in City Recreation Facilities in conjunction with the development of cultural social media and media campaigns.
- Monitor industry trends and make recommendations to supervisors on cultural policy, plans and programming.
- Maintain effective and cooperative liaison with government agencies, and other agencies and organizations to promote cooperative planning and working relationships, as well as work with Community partners to coordinate cultural initiatives such as Art in Public Places, Orillia District Arts Council etc.
- Ensure the cultural programming instructors are properly trained, programs are properly evaluated, and the appropriate improvements/alterations are made to maintain the quality and relevance of programs.
- Report to the Director on progress and updates to the City’s Cultural Plan based on emerging trends and needs within the sector.
- Respond to inquiries, handle and resolve complaints, as well as deal with the public in a courteous and efficient manner to promote a high standard of public relations at all times.
- Work within approved budgets and prepare justification for budget enhancements as required.
- Evenings and weekends are required for this position.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- College Diploma in Arts Administration, Cultural Management/Planning, Event Management, Community Development Museum/Cultural Studies or related field.
- Minimum two years’ experience working in a municipal environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, organization, interpersonal, and management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, together with strong organizational, analytical, leadership, coaching, time management, strategic planning, presentation, and management skills.
- Excellent planning, forecasting, and financial/budget management skills.
- Must possess a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s licence with access to a reliable vehicle.
- A current and acceptable Criminal Record Check is required for this position at the incumbent’s expense, prior to the commencement date.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $68,919.00-$80,627.00 per year
