**Carte International** is looking for a **Training and Development Specialist** to join and support the Human Resources team on a full-time basis. The Training and Development Specialist provides training and development support for Carte International with design, and development of training programs/courses and business development needs. Provide development opportunities for all employees while fostering continual learning within a manufacturing environment.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
Plan and Identify Organizational Needs:

- Consult with and support all departments and Human Resources to identify, plan, and implement resource selection, training and development requirements as driven by the performance needs of the organization.
- Research, design, implement and maintain standardized, comprehensive training and development programs and documentation based on organizational needs, changes in culture, products, procedures and services.
- Identify learning needs in accordance with the organization’s strategic and operational plans.
- Develop and effectively communicate a learning strategy for the organization and provide an annual learning plan that supports this strategy.
- Evaluate existing learning programs, recommend changes, and upon approval, implement changes.
- Identify and evaluate ESL levels with Carte employees and make recommendations for improvement.

Creation Of Learning Resources:

- Develop training curriculum and materials.
- Develop, implement and evaluate training that is engaging, and supports internal learning.
- Deliver training and monitor effectiveness across all departments.
- Provide discipline
- specific professional and competency training, training on general workplace standards, processes and tools.
- Provide training on general skills and competencies (e.g. Verbal and Written Communication, Time Management, Basic excel
- spreadsheet/document creation, Conflict Resolutions Skills).
- Manage course development and delivery of training in collaboration with employees and external providers.
- General promotion of quality health and safety and environmental excellence at Carte.
- Undertake any other duties, consistent with skills and experience, as directed by the reporting manager.

**TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL NEED**:

- Bachelor’s degree in education (adult education preferred), social sciences or relevant field.
- Five (5) years’ experience in a training role with a focus on organizational and operational development.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge and experience with the instructional design process.
- Excellent Presentation and classroom teaching skills.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality standards and administrative policies and procedures.
- Previous experience providing training delivery in a unionized environment would be an asset.
- Experience in Train the Trainer, ELS instruction and blueprint reading considered an asset.
- Prior experience in curriculum development considered an asset.
- Lean Manufacturing Training is an asset; must be willing to obtain.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $59,500.00-$69,500.00 per year
