The Department of Families is responsible for delivering a wide range of programs and services to some of the most vulnerable citizens of Manitoba. The EIA Provincial Orientation and Training Unit (PONT) supports the department's mission by creating and delivering exemplary orientation, professional development, and training for its staff in order to support the delivery of legislated Employment Income and Assistance (EIA) programs.

Conditions of Employment:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must have a valid driver's licence and the ability to travel within the Province of Manitoba on occasion, including overnight stays
- Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Must provide a satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check
- Must provide a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check

Qualifications:
Essential:

- Post secondary degree in social work, education, social sciences or a related field. An equivalent combination of adult education diploma/certificate and experience may be considered
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing and delivering courses, workshops and/or training
- Superior verbal communication skills focusing on the ability to facilitate effective, engaging, and dynamic training programs
- Strong written communication skills focusing on the ability to prepare training materials and written correspondence
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to work under pressure and to demonstrate flexibility in the midst of competing priorities

Desired:

- Experience working directly with vulnerable/at risk clients in a social services setting (in fields related to Health, Education, Justice etc.)
- Knowledge of department programs and services

**Duties**:
As a training specialist, you will deliver and facilitate training sessions to a diverse range of staff from program areas across the Department of Families. You will play an integral role in researching, designing and developing curriculum and training materials. You will design courses by combining creativity, research and analysis to create a quality training product. You will work as a member of a small, collaborative team committed to continuous improvement and excellent client service.
