Program Assistant - Administration

Purpose
The Program Assistant (Administration) will report to the Program Manager. The role is responsible for providing administrative support for day to day operations which includes documentation, filing, data entry, reporting on KPI’s, and ongoing communication internally and externally on behalf of AdaptAbilities. They are integral to the success of the program by providing valuable support to families, Community Specialists, and ultimately furthering the organizational vision. The conscientious Program Assistant will act with integrity, be open to growth, live our purpose, cultivate teamwork, and put forth an extraordinary effort to empower people with diverse abilities and their families to grow, succeed, and belong.

Key Functions
- Provides administrative and program support to programs, including but not limited to data entry, documentation management, scheduling, weekly reporting, and internal and external communication with parents/guardians or stakeholders
- Edit and create forms, reports and documentation processes for use in Programs
- Prepare summer camp supplies including but not limited to supplies shopping and inventorying recreation, arts, and program supplies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility managing competing departmental demands
- Communicate effectively with integrity to individuals, families and co-workers
- Perform other job-related activities, as required

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum education requirement of a High School Diploma and a minimum of 2-3 years of related experience; or graduation from an appropriate post-secondary program with a Certificate or Diploma from a College / Technical Institute. (Kinesiology, Recreation, Education, Human Services, and/or related field)
- May consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-3 years’ experience in related field, with one year administrative experience
- Experience working with children, teens, and adults with disabilities is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check
- Possess or be willing to obtain: First Aid with CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol, Medication Administration

Working Conditions
This is a temporary full-time position from May 23, 2023, to August 25, 2023. Shifts are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30pm out of Head Office. This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant from the Government of Canada, which requires that the employee must be between 15 and 30 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. International students are not eligible.

**Compensation**: $18.39 to $19.47 depending on experience and education
