The Community Standards and Neighbourhoods Branch is looking for an Assisted Snow Program Coordinator to provide coordination, policy setting, budget oversight, training, contract evaluation and performance management in support of Edmonton's Assisted Snow Pilot Program.

The Assisted Snow Program is a high-profile pilot program that will generate considerable public interest, and it will be the responsibility of the Coordinator to deal directly with issues raised by the public, Councillors and external stakeholders, and set the strategies, program requirements, audits, and performance of a high-functioning team.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Ongoing evaluation and auditing of trends and issues to complete focused research on key issues surrounding the Edmonton Assisted Snow Program
- Make recommendations to the Director of Complaints & Investigations regarding Assisted Snow program goals; drafts policies and develop strategies to achieve those goals
- Influence other civic departments and engage the community to collaborate and integrate key approaches to address, implement and manage the program
- Ensure ongoing networking with similar programs in other municipalities at the regional, provincial, national and international levels on best practices on snow removal and community support initiatives
- Identify where improvements can be made and amend operational procedures as necessary to ensure the contract/programs provide optimum customer service
- Coordinate, monitor, contract manage, and oversee the delivery of Assisted snow program services for the City of Edmonton and to ensure contractual service level agreements are achieved and adhered to
- Manage all aspects of social marketing and community outreach in support of Assisted Snow program to achieve long term, sustainable service levels in the community and high levels of participation in the program
- Develop and maintain strategic external relationships that support and impact the achievement of Assisted Snow program goals
- Develop and recruit diverse sponsors and partners to engage and secure widespread community support for the program
- Deal with the general public on questions, inquiries, and issues. Respond to various inquiries and requests from all levels of the City including Councillors and Mayor's Office in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide direct supervision and ongoing direction to unit staff
- Provide leadership, coaching, counselling, and training and discipline if required. Build and nurture a positive team culture and working environment
- Manage work group organizational structure and position responsibilities to address the dynamic nature of the program, rapid growth and high public profile
- Determine staff requirements; conduct recruitment and selection processes and make effective hiring and promotion decisions

**Qualifications**:

- University degree in marketing, commerce, community development or a related field
- A minimum of seven (7) years experience, including staff supervision, strategic planning, budget management, and community development. A minimum of four (4) years in a related supervisory capacity, minimum of two (2) years experience in project & event management, and minimum of two (2) years experience in RFP processes and contract management
- Strong leadership and managerial skills
- Ability to foster a spirit of collaboration amongst diverse organizations, civic operations, community agencies, and personalities
- Demonstrated sound reasoning and decision-making skills in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
- Excellent organizational skills, writing skills, communication skills. Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively and persuasively, orally and in writing
- Experience in program development focusing on working with non-profit organizations, community agencies, and vendors in a community-wide initiative
- Proven ability to develop marketing strategies and effectively implement them
- Capacity to manage multiple programs concurrently and effectively manage time and respond to issues in a timely manner
- Ability to represent the City of Edmonton in a professional, honest, respectful and safe manner
- Policy development, research and recommendations
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license (or provincial equivalent). Must obtain business auto insurance for personal vehicle use while on City business
- Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
- Hire is dependent upon the ability to obtain and retain a Commissioner for Oaths certificate
