**Overview**
The City of Cornwall is seeking a Coordinator, Payroll & Scheduling for the Glen Stor Dun Lodge. The main responsibilities of the role is to oversee scheduling of employees to ensure the best care to the residents and clients of the Glen Stor Dun Lodge, in addition to processing payroll and completing related administrative duties. The Payroll & Scheduling Coordinator also assists with compiling statistical reports and monitoring employee time banks and usage. This role also ensures that staffing levels and other administrative responsibilities align with legislated requirements and corporate policies.
The Payroll & Scheduling Coordinator is responsible in ensuring the proper execution of the following:
- Programming and updating of scheduling system (currently Telestaff)
- Completes scheduling approvals and maintains department schedules to cover daily staffing, long-range staffing and planned vacancies. The position also coordinates shift coverage for unplanned short-term vacancies, such as sick calls. All scheduling functions are conducted while following established Collective Agreements, procedures and policies.
- Completes necessary coding and processes employee payroll submissions.
- Works closely with other City of Cornwall Departments, such as Finance and Human Resources, to coordinate staffing changes.
- Prepares and compiles financial reports and submissions for the Ministry of Long-Term Care.
- Extracts data from employee scheduling system to compile reports relating to absenteeism, probationary hours, overtime hours, and other reports as required.
- Maintains strict confidentiality with respect to payroll data and employee information.
**Required Qualifications & Experience**
- Must have a post-secondary education in business administration, accounting or equivalent.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Must have advanced computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint and Excel). Excel testing will be required.
- Familiarity with scheduling and/or payroll software will be considered an asset.
- Bilingualism in French/English is considered an asset.
