Development Accounting Manager

PROFILE SUMMARY
Wesgroup is poised for substantial growth over the next several years and in preparation for this exciting and challenging phase, we are actively seeking a highly engaged, driven and experienced Manager, Development Accounting to join our team.
As the Development Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring our development accounting team. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing loan draws, monthly project budget reporting, and ensuring compliance with established processes, procedures, and policies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the development accounting team.
- Set clear goals and expectations for team members.
- Contribute proactively to enhancing the skills and knowledge of the team.
- Financial Reporting:
- Review monthly progress draws for submission to quantity surveyors and lenders.
- Analyze development project proforma, job cost reports, and project cashflow forecasts.
- Project Reporting:
- Prepare loan draw summaries, project cost summaries, project KPIs, and sales proceeds/loan paydown schedules.
- Generate ad-hoc analyses on insurance costs, property taxes, assessed values, cost allocations, sales, and project performance.
- System Implementation:
- Assist, lead, and/or oversee new system implementation.
- Conduct training sessions for the development accounting team.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for established processes.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in development accounting, real estate finance, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor a team.
- Experience in setting clear goals and expectations for team members.
- Proven ability to contribute to the professional development of team members
- Strong understanding of project budgeting, loan draws, and cash flow reporting.
- Familiarity with financial reporting requirements for real estate development projects.
- Understanding development project proformas and real estate cycle
**EXPECTED COMPENSATION**:
- The expected salary range for this role is $110,000 - $125,000 per annum. Actual offered salary will depend on individual experience, qualifications, geographic location, market conditions for the role, and internal equity.
