**OVERVIEW**:
Reporting to the Director, Retail Store Operations, the Territory Manager is responsible for leading and managing a territory of company-controlled convenience stores, gasoline facilities, and select dealer outlets in a defined market. This is a full-time, permanent role covering retail locations in Ottawa East and Gatineau.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Preparing, negotiating, and communicating annually approved projections with retailers while establishing financial targets and providing strategic direction for each of the retail locations.
- Perform regular store visits to monitor the implementation and execution of strategic plans, including marketing and merchandising and adherence to operational standards to improve performance.
- Coaching and motivating the retail agents to increase site sales profitability while adhering to the principles of execution, ethical business conduct, and safe operations.
- Communicating Company strategy, policies, and objectives at the site level so that each market can capitalize on and leverage company programs in order to maximize performance.
- Analyzing sales and financial data to monitor the financial success of each retail location, identifying potential growth areas, and local market opportunities, and ensuring the retail agents are on target to meet the approved yearly plan.
- Coordinating all required repairs and maintenance work required at the various retail locations to maintain a high standard of customer readiness.

**Operations Management**:

- Responsible to provide feedback that will assist in the continuous improvement of Company driven policies and processes related to Store Operations across all stores.
- Oversee the operations of a designated test/training store in the defined territory.

**EDUCATION & SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE**:

- Post-secondary education in business, or applicable experience.
- Previous retail and merchandising experience in a management role.
- Proven experience negotiating contracts would be an advantage.
- Ability to effectively multi-task, stay organized and complete projects with short deadlines in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form in both official languages is required.
- Self-reliant and motivated.
- Must be willing to spend significant time driving from location to location within own territory.
- Must have a driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency in both official languages is an asset
