**The Role**:
The Territory Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Sales and will be based out of Ottawa.

Basic Functions:

- Develop strong, long-term relationships with Ontario cannabis retail store personnel
- Achieve sales, distribution, and market share objectives within assigned Ontario accounts
- Lead and organize brand training programs with retailers/budtenders
- Act as brand ambassador for the portfolio with both retailers and consumers
- Utilize CRM software to keep accurate records for contact management and use best practices for route planning, call frequency and tracking performance against objectives
- Have a balanced approach to selling through 50% facts and 50% relationships to drive velocity and distribution
- Leverage marketing presentations and tools, and use effective selling techniques to introduce products, features and benefits and educate store staff
- Execute and activate pre-arranged merchandising and/or promotional programs for retail cannabis stores
- Participate in provincial trade shows
- Responsible to Vice President Sales for activities and results in the territory including understanding inventory needs and pricing shifts

Job Functions:

- Manage relationships with Ontario cannabis retail accounts
- Achieve sales, distribution, and market share targets
- Increase brand awareness and visibility
- Train and educate the retail personnel
- Keep accurate records on the account, the decision makers, and key relationships
- Set up and manage cluster-training sessions with retail accounts
- Make field calls and track activities in each account
- Prepare and submit weekly reporting to management summarizing results against objectives
- Track and report on inventory (own and competitive)
- Review competitive education, merchandising, promotional materials and activity, and monitor sales
- Provide examples and understanding of the competitive market in their territory
- Monitor and track performance to objectives
- Manage promotional expenses for the territory
- Work with the Vice President of Sales to ensure best practices are utilized and all engagement activities are within company and provincial guidelines

Key Results:
A Territory Manager that can maximize sales and distribution, as well as train and educate the Ontario cannabis retail staff to achieve assigned KPI’s. The Territory Manager will also have strong collaborative mindset and be able to work with both the sales team and with the marketing team to drive effective programing at the customer level.

**Required Education / Experience**:

- Years of Experience: A minimum of 3 years of Territory Sales Management, Brand Ambassador or Brand Education/Training experience in the industry with preference given to those from heavily regulated industries like cannabis, beverage alcohol, tobacco, and pharma.
- Education/Training: University - Commerce, Business or Marketing or Natural Sciences
- Licenses/Certificates: Driver’s license required
- Vehicle: A vehicle in good working condition

Other:

- Demonstrated proficiency in building and managing relationships through multiple communication mediums. A strong background in sales, education or training, and presentation execution is key.
- Experienced with software packages including Windows, and Microsoft Office.
- This position requires strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
