**Location - **Work primarily takes place at North Campus Edmonton. This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person.

**Position
Reporting to the Manager, Academic Programs and Student Services, this position leads special projects and initiatives in the faculty relating to governance and policies impacting the undergraduate programs. Throughout the updating of faculty policies and procedures, the incumbent with lead focus groups and conduct evaluation of proposals shared with faculty, staff, and students and integrate feedback to ensure sufficient faculty support. The incumbent will also conduct a review of institutional best practices for governance policies and procedures at the faculty level including reviewing the current faculty policies and procedures and making proposals to update them.

**Duties
**Special Projects, Policy Development, and Strategic Initiatives**
- Leads special projects, policy development and strategic initiatives for the academic programs and student services department.
- Conducts stakeholder engagement, consultation, and evaluation for all projects, policies, and strategic initiatives under their development.
- Identifies, generates, assesses, and develops new ideas into feasible initiatives that align with faculty strategic and long-term objectives.
- Prioritizes project initiatives to support long-term strategic objectives.
- Drafts policies and procedures to go through the appropriate governance channels (ex: Faculty Council, GFC, Calendar) following consultation.
- Ensures that all proposals comply with University and faculty regulations and requirements including national accreditation standards.

**Governance Initiatives**
- Reviews policy manuals of other CHS faculties and relevant professional programs (ex: Law) at the UofA.
- Reviews current state of documented faculty policies and identifies gaps and required updates that exist in the documentation of faculty policies and makes recommendations to faculty leadership about which policies need development and updating.
- Working with faculty leadership to undertake proposals for new and amendments to existing faculty policies.
- Conducts relevant stakeholder engagement based on the scope of the policy (ex: including: faculty, staff, and students).

**Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum undergraduate degree. Masters degree preferred
- Minimum of five years of experience working in post-secondary with substantive experience with advising, admissions, appeals, and other faculty or UofA specific policies and procedures relating to the aforementioned topics.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with faculty leaders and with team members from a variety of disciplines is required.
