We are currently looking for a Project Cost Control Specialist

**Job Summary**:
As a Project Cost Control Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing project budgets and expenditures. You will work closely with project managers and finance team to monitor costs, analyze financial data, and implement strategies to keep projects ontrack financially.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Planning, Budget Monitoring and Forecasting**:

- Assist in setting up the budget and forecasting tools
- Implement cost control measures to ensure projects are executed within approved budgets.
- Monitor project budgets and financial performance to identify variances and potential cost overruns.
- Contribute to project financial planning by providing insights on cost projections and potential risks.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop accurate cost forecasts.

**2. Cost Analysis**:

- Analyze project costs and expenses, providing regular reports and insights to project managers and stakeholders.
- Conduct variance analysis to understand deviations from budgeted costs and recommend corrective actions.

**3. Change Order Management**:

- Evaluate and process change orders, assessing their impact on project costs and schedules.
- Ensure proper documentation and approvals for change orders.

**4. Financial Reporting**:

- Prepare and present financial reports, including cost analysis, budget vs. actual performance, and financial forecasts.
- Communicate financial status and trends to project teams and senior management.

**5. Support Field Activities**:

- Provide support to field activities as required including generation of new cost codes etc.

**6. Vendor and Contract Management**:

- Review vendor contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with project budgets and financial objectives.
- Negotiate cost-effective terms with vendors and suppliers.

**7. Compliance and Risk Management**:

- Ensure compliance with company policies, processes and procedures
- Identify and mitigate financial risks that may affect project cost control.

**8. Continuous Improvement**:

- Stay updated on industry best practices and cost control trends.
- Propose process improvements and cost-saving initiatives to enhance project financial efficiency.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a Project Cost Control Specialist or similar role in project management.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Excel and project management software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies is a plus.

**Education**:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (an asset)
- Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or equivalent is an asset.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
