Wood's Homes Human Resources department is looking for a Human Resources Administrator to join our team. This is a temporary full-time employment opportunity (13 month Maternity Leave coverage).
Role Summary
The Human Resources Administrator will work within the Human Resources team to provide support to various departments across our organization. This role has the potential for exposure and experience within multiple areas of Human Resources including: onboarding, compensation, performance management and training.
**Responsibilities**:
Assisting with onboarding of new hires which include:
- Preparing new hire packages.
- Processing Criminal Record Checks and Intervention Record Checks.
- Verifying of conditions of employment.
- Creating Staff ID cards.
Assisting with the internal recruitment process which include:
- Sending offer letters to staff and tracking signatures to meet required payroll deadlines.
- Verification of conditions of employment
General administrative support such as:
- Maintaining employee files.
- Prepare employment verification letters.
- Coordinating and tracking of the Employee Referral and Computer Literacy Program.
- Tracking and sending monthly employee evaluation reminders.
- Updating forms and other Human Resources documents as required.
- Writing articles for the department newsletter.
- Updating Human Resources information on internal SharePoint site.
- Overseeing online employee recognition efforts.
- Respond to inquiries from employees and leaders related to Human Resources policies, procedures and programs.
- Other related Human Resources projects as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business with a specialization in Human Resources.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience working in an administrative position.
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience and/or interest in working within HRIS and Payroll Systems. Experience with Ceridian Dayforce would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 programs which include Excel and SharePoint.
- Experience working with DocuSign or similar system for document control would be considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong relationship building skills with the ability to build relationships with all levels in the organization.
- Willingness to learn all areas within the Human Resources function.
- Evidence of the practice with highly confidential information.
