We have a permanent full-time position located at our main office in Calgary.
Working hours will be Monday to Friday, totaling 37.5 hours per week. The salary range for this position is $50,000-$53,000.

Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist (HR Generalist) is responsible for carrying out a variety of human resources related activities, with focuses on talent acquisition and administration. The HR Generalist is responsible for representing CASS at job fairs, posting jobs ads and conducting the onboarding and HR orientation of new hires. The incumbent develops and implements recruitment strategies and adapts these strategies in a sector of ever evolving change.
The HR Generalist provides confidential administrative support throughout the human resources team and the agency. The incumbent is responsible for creating and maintaining Human Resources documents and records, including but not limited to offer letters and extensive training records. The HR Generalist creates and maintains staff files, performs HRIS document maintenance and reporting, manages the CASS referral program, and various other activities and projects.
Key Responsibilities
Client
- In conjunction with members of the HR Team and CASS leaders, spearhead agency operations in attracting and retaining top talent to participate in the delivery of services to the individuals supported by CASS
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand the impact of organizational change regarding service delivery of CASS clients
- Ensure human resources practices are reviewed through the lens of client delivery; and accommodate to allow the agency to respond with agility and timeliness when appropriate
- Uphold agency values and commitments with integrity and resiliency that aligns with funder, contractual, and legal obligations

Agency
- Support hiring supervisors in the recruitment of staff through:

- Proactive engagement with senior leadership and hiring supervisors to best understand recruitment needs and challenges
- Conduct labour market research and make recommendations on recruitment strategies to ensure success in meeting agency needs
- Promote hiring opportunities and the agency as an employer of choice on CASS social media channels
- Provide recruitment support through managing job postings on internal and external job boards. When requested by leaders, pre-screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and schedule interviews
- Assist with the development of materials, tools and documentation in support of HR practices such as onboarding, workflow management, and best practices
- Develop and maintain relationships with external community partners and stakeholders, including post secondary institutions
- Represent the agency to collaborating partners, external stakeholders, and the community at large, including attending job fairs and networking events
- Develop and provide recommendations for policies and processes for best practices related to recruitment, retention, onboarding and orientation
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Employment and Human Rights legislation, regulations and best practices to manage risk as related to recruitment and onboarding
- Draft and prepare HR documentation including employment offers, general correspondence and other documents as needed
- Update and maintain HR databases, spreadsheets, and the CASS internal website, and provide reporting on new hires, training compliance, recruitment, on-boarding, orientations, retention, etc.
- Track and update employee changes on a monthly basis for payroll and auditing purposes
- Support and facilitate changes that are required for continuous improvement for organizational effectiveness and consistency
- Attend team meetings and assist in providing summaries, compiling team input to inform project plans and other internal workflow documents to optimize team processes
- Provide coverage for the Human Resources team, as well as members of the Admin Team when needed
- Provide general information and assistance internally and externally over the phone, electronically and in person
