Are you passionate about empowering students and shaping academic excellence? We’re seeking a proactive and dedicated **Academic Advisor** to be an integral part of our team, supporting and guiding our undergraduate student community towards success.
Reporting directly to the Faculty Administrator, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, providing student academic advising to undergraduate students. Your contributions will be instrumental in achieving both University and departmental goals.
**What You’ll Do**:
- **Provide Academic Guidance**: Offer comprehensive academic advising to undergraduate students, ensuring they receive the support needed to excel in their academic pursuits. Oversee student records.
- **Collaborate and liaise**: You will collaborate with other Academic Advisors, Program Chairs and Associate Dean to support student success. Working closely with the Centre for Experiential and Service Learning related to coop and internship.
- **Committee Coordination and policy development**:Provide resource support, coordinate student files, petitions and policy research and development for the Faculty coop and student appeal committees and academic action.
- **Event Coordination**:Coordinate Engineering student related events, including our Capstone Project Day, and other events to support student retention.

Position Requirements
**What You’ll Bring to the Position**:
- University degree;
- Three years of academic related experience.
**Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role**:
- Knowledge of University academic policies and procedures, registration process, strong advising skills to support students;
- Knowledge of Engineering programs and cooperative education practices;
- Excellent organizational skills including a proven ability to work effectively with mínimal supervision, prioritize work and accomplish tasks on time with ongoing interruptions;
- Knowledge of Banner, Caspur and University systems;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, presentation skills and the ability to function as a positive and collaborative team member is required;
- Ability to provide advice and guidance to a variety of audiences that promotes understanding and educates;
- Demonstrated awareness of cultural differences and has an understanding of how to connect and convey a message to audiences from various cultural backgrounds;

Pay Grade APT 4 Salary Range $64,796 - $87,436 Annually (July 1, 2024) Status Permanent Work Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 4:30 pm, with some flexible hours working evenings or weekends as needed.
