These four key life areas are addressed through delivering programs and services that form Diversecities’ five pillars: Law & Advocacy, Bridge to the Community, Child & Youth, Health & Wellness, and Food Security.

**About the Program**

The Green Day Program is a Diversecities that began five years ago as a response to the increasing necessity for food security that low-income and vulnerable clients were facing. For this program, Diversecities access the Calgary Community Kitchen warehouse twice a week to retrieve food donations to be organized and handed out to vulnerable and low-income seniors members of the Calgary Chinese community. In addition, the organization coordinates with businesses and supermarket chains for food donation that is pick-up at different locations and retrieved at Diversecities’ offices by volunteers.

**About the Role**

This role report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and supervise volunteers and, eventually, summer and practitioner students.

This is a 6-month Part-Time role (21 hours per week) with the possibility of becoming a permanent position. This position has a compensation of $21 an hour, plus employment benefits, gas expenses and professional development opportunities.

**Starting date is July 17th, 2023 (desire).**

**Role Description & Responsibilities**:
Coordinate and secure Food Donations:

- Responsible for connecting with private businesses and supermarkets to create or expand agreements for food donations for the program
- Responsible for collecting or coordinating the pick-up of food donation leave at Diversecities main offices to be storage at Green Day’s office
- Coordinate volunteers for picking up and delivering food donations and food packing
- Follow best practices, health and safety and sanitary regulations to handle and store food donations and packages

Client Support and Program Promotion:

- Responsible for coordinating with Diversecities’ Communications Department material for program promotion
- Organize and communicates with clients about their appointments to retrieve or deliver food hampers
- Collect clients’ feedback and surveys
- Delivery or organize volunteers to deliver food packages to clients

Leadership & Community Engagement:

- Be responsible for developing and updating the organization’s strategies and policies to recruit, train, mentor and supervise suitable volunteers for the program’s activities

Administrative & Office Duties
- Maintain program documentation updates by practicing best practices in clients’ file administration and data entry
- Provide guidance and supervision to volunteers and, eventually, summer and practitioner students attached to the program.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly statistical and narrative reports on program outcomes.
- Presenting monthly activities programs and updating them when necessary
- Provide support to the CEO to prepare programs, activities proposals, and reports when required.
- Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and training
- Represent Diversecities by attending relevant external meetings when requested.
- Identify any improvement opportunity within the program and communicate it to the CEO.
- General office duties as needed

**Qualifications & Skills**:
Education, training and experience:

- Education in a human services or social field (recommended but not mandatory)
- Experience in previous customer service roles.
- Track record of experience in non-profit project or program coordination and evaluation (desire)
- Experience recruiting, training and supervising volunteers.
- Awareness and understanding of pertinent challenges and social issues for immigrants or members of multi-ethnic family backgrounds (desire)
- Experience working with clients in culturally and linguistically diverse environments and providing services to clients with limited or non-English skills.
- Experience managing Microsoft Office, SharePoint and CRM systems

Personal skills:

- Excellent English skills, written and verbal
- Fluent in Chinese (mandatory).
- A self-starter who can work
