The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is a national, nonprofit organization established in 1929 by a special Act of Parliament to oversee the medical education of specialists in Canada. Today, the Royal College has over 55,000 members and the vision remains to advance the learning for specialist physicians to deliver the best health care for all. The Royal College partners with patients, Fellows, residents and other health care collaborators to lead specialty medical education through setting standards, assessment, and enabling continuous learning so that we can provide the best care possible for patients.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Planning and Operational Excellence (POE) the Manager, POE, is responsible for the planning and execution of priority initiatives that are in support of the Royal College Strategic and Operational Plans. The Manager, POE, leads a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts to fulfill this mandate, with a commitment to strong team mentorship and guidance regarding project management, business analysis, strategic thinking, leadership, results orientation, and collaboration and engagement.

Here’s an insight into your typical day to day:

- You will manage staff and lead a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts.
- You will set operational directions, clear goals, targets, deadlines, accountabilities and expectations for Project Management and Business Analysis.
- You will monitor, evaluate, and adjust work plans to ensure follow through from implementation to delivery stage and from evaluation to reporting process.

Does this sound like you?
- Level of education, experience and training equivalent to an undergraduate degree in either Project Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent
- Seven to ten years of related work experience in Project Management
- Three to five years of relevant work experience in Business Analysis
- Minimum five years demonstrated management experience leading, managing and coaching a team focused on results and/or combination of related experience.
- Seven to ten years of related work experience in Project Management
- Three to five years of relevant work experience in Business Analysis
- Minimum five years demonstrated management experience leading, managing and coaching a team focused on results and/or combination of related experience.
- Results oriented (Perform in the present) - managers are focused on delivering results and effective outcomes.

- Demonstrated leadership, proven people management skills and an ability to influence a variety of constituents to adopt new practices and behaviors through different means and interactions with management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate with stakeholders and business leaders to effectively communicate information.
- Above-average listening skills and ability to deliver group presentations, facilitate and chair meetings.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and leaders and to present findings and information of a complex, technical or sensitive nature to a variety of audiences in a clear, concise and effective way, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to facilitate discussions among multiple stakeholders with various and sometimes conflicting interests to achieve a cohesive and quality approach to planning that meets organizational objectives.
- Excellent software skills including Microsoft Office 365 Suite, (Visio, MS Project, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Experience in developing and monitoring budgets.
- Ability to delegate while maintaining forward motion on key deliverables.
- Knowledge and understanding of various methodologies such as:

- Lean/Agile methodologies
- Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK)
- Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABoK)
- Effective and persuasive leadership style; comfortable at all levels of an organization. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with team/work groups to accomplish goals.
- Experience training teams with various responsibilities and skill sets in project management tools.
- A sound understanding of change management modeling as well as capacity assessment and monitoring tools.
