**Planning Manager** at UL Standards and Engagement.

The **Planning Manager** leads the development and delivery of customized market analysis for our growing standards and engagement activities to shape the strategic direction for the Standards Planning team, a division of UL Standards and Engagement (ULSE). The role is responsible for building this new strategic function, leading a team of analysts to synthesize information related to new and emerging technologies, and recommending areas for new standards development. The Planning Manager will provide insights on market drivers to grow and advance ULSE’s portfolio of safety and performance standards.

What you’ll learn & achieve:
**As the Planning Manager**
**, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL Standards and Engagement as you**:

- Perform market scans with a long-term view. Analyze and interpret market research and intelligence to identify growth opportunities.
- Research possible growth opportunities related to standards portfolio, new science and technology, and new industries both domestic and internationally.
- Synthesize complex information using both qualitative and quantitative methods to inform recommendations for the development of new ULSE standards. Provide recommendations to Head of Planning and Standards leadership.
- Monitor technical trends and developments including code and regulatory advancements.
- Provides training and mentoring to colleagues in various divisions and unites on topics and techniques related to strategy, particularly with respect to organization-wide strategic efforts and best practices.
- Support initiatives led by other members of the ULSE Standards Portfolio.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities to strengthen ULSE sensing activities.
- Project manage strategy initiatives.
- Conducts appropriate due diligence to ensure reliability of information provided.Performs other duties as assigned.

**Professional education and experience requirements for the role include**:

- University degree in Engineering, Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, or related field.
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years related experience.
- Experience managing market research initiatives with data generation and data analysis.
- Experience leading projects & programs and managing teams.
