**YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE**:
AEM is committed to responsible mining practices and the sustainable development of resources, which is why we strive to exceed regulatory requirements when it comes to our mine closure and reclamation obligations. Mine reclamation is complex and requires extensive planning, monitoring and continual improvement reviews, and includes consultation with key stakeholders and the community to enable reclamation objectives to be achieved and obligations and commitments to be met.

Our Legacy Team is responsible for the planning and safe delivery of closure and reclamation at AEM’s legacy (non-producing) sites.

Reporting to the Director, Legacy, you will be part of the Environment Department. The primary role of the Project Manager, Closure and Legacy is to manage activities to achieve the safe and responsible closure at AEMs legacy sites located in Quebec and Ontario. This is a full time technical and managerial role that requires fluent English and French and frequent site travel.
- Develop, coordinate, communicate and implement site closure and reclamation plans, including activity and study scope development;
- Deliver safe work practice and strive for zero harm;
- Proactively identify and manage safety, environmental, closure and project-related risks to be as low as practicable;
- Coordinate study and field programs with contractors and consultants enabling programs to be executed on time and following AEM standards;
- Collaborate with the Director, Legacy to develop the vision, strategic objectives, and prioritize the closure and reclamation plans;
- Develop budgets and schedules for closure and reclamation works to enable closure objectives, obligations and commitments to be met;
- Participate in engagement, develop and maintain relationships with authorities and communities as needed to facilitate planning, approval and reporting of closure and reclamation activities;
- Obtain permits and approvals necessary to achieve closure objectives;
- Track, manage and report progress towards meeting objectives and regulatory compliance;
- Strong in analysis, critical thinking and regular review of technical and non-technical information to enable continual improvement and inform closure and reclamation planning and processes;
- Frequent travel to the sites to manage risk and supervise closure activities;
- Facilitate integration within and across diverse teams to enable timely and effective decision making and project delivery;
- Promote a culture of good practice. Share learnings and insights from closure and legacy management to identify opportunities and minimize potential long-term liabilities for AEM; and
- Comply with all company policies and report any issues that may harm the people, environment, information or product.

**WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, or Environmental Science and Land Reclamation (a Post Graduate Degree is considered an asset);
- Fluency in French and English (a requirement);
- Based in Ontario or Quebec to facilitate access to multiple legacy sites and availability to travel to AEM properties or potential projects as needed;
- At least five (5) years of experience with rehabilitation processes and practices;
