R&D IT’s vision is to deliver the best science IT capabilities in biopharma, which we define as agile, responsive and fit-for-future. Our goal is to engage with our stakeholders as a strategic partner in delivering life-changing medicines to our patients. The desired effect of your role is to take accountability as a leader for delivering a ‘Best in Class’ IT experience within R&D IT.
Delivering the portfolio of projects and services needs people with hybrid skill sets covering technical, analytical, project management, service management and business analysis skills, combined with an excellent knowledge of finance as well as product and portfolio strategy processes. Our project managers lead or contribute to a range of projects including IT development, data management, analytics, AI, machine learning, business transformation and more. Our projects deploy a range of technologies including internal custom built solutions, packaged software, ERP solutions, Software as a Service as well as Cloud based solutions and BI tools.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Operations Manager will develop and evaluate a comprehensive set of strategic management and measurement processes that link strategic objectives to key performance indicators for the functional area and provide accurate management reporting on performance. They will oversee the Planning for E2E R&D IT, ensuring all functions and departments supported have the resources they need to develop strategies effectively.
**Typical Accountabilities**
Develops, implements, and monitors these frameworks:
- scorecard ownership, reporting, communication in line with IT requirements
- management of E2E R&D IT capability meetings: agenda planning, facilitation, and minutes
- support the creation and of business cases and initiative tracking; ensuring alignment to business/IT objectives and strategy; managing functional risks, actions, and decisions
- deliver communication strategy and events: internal communications, engagement plans, Town Halls
- Responsible for the provision of robust and succinct information to senior leaders, to support decision making
- Support to Head of IT - E2E R&D with key deliverables and urgent business
- manage and co-ordinate MTP and LTP process and submissions for E2E R&D
- Maintains a high degree of understanding and awareness on new strategic and business/IT planning trends and developments
- Operating model governance and role development
**Education, Qualifications and Experience**:
- BA/BSc degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
- 4+ years progressive experience in IT business or financial management
- 3+ years’ experience leading cross functional teams and building consensus
- Experience with benchmarking/scorecards and reporting
**Desirable Requirements**
- Demonstrated knowledge of business management areas (finance, manpower, portfolio, supplier)
- Working knowledge of identifying risks and issues within IT landscape
