The Alzheimer Society of Muskoka has received a Resilient Communities Fund Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to support community-based organizations that deliver programs and services in Ontario to recover and build capacity, resilience, and sustainability. The grant will cover a 24-month period commencing in June 2023.

The Alzheimer Society of Muskoka (ASM), serving the communities of Muskoka and Parry Sound, is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias and their caregivers. We are committed to providing advocacy, a caring and understanding support system, individual, family and group counselling, public education.

The Alzheimer Society of Muskoka offers a wide range of programs and services addressing the progress of Alzheimer disease with support for caregivers and families including supportive counselling, public education, weekly drop-in programs, in home recreation, a resource lending library, music and Minds in

Motion.

The Digital Communications Coordinator (DCC) is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a sustainable digital communications and marketing strategy and workplan in support of the strategic and operating goals of the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka.

The DCC will oversee the activities of all supporters using online fundraising tools leading to growth in fund development revenues and brand awareness. The DCC will lead the development and delivery of contact to targeted audiences, including the creation of digital assets and advertising to support digital marketing initiatives, a photo library, video content, graphics, and templates across a variety of platforms to ensure an inspiring supporter and donor experience. The DCC will also support media and public relations activities.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop and implement an integrated digital communications and marketing strategy in consultation with the ASM team.
- Create and shape content and narratives that illustrate impact; determine best practices for gathering and sharing impact stories; help to cultivate a storytelling culture across the society.
- Develop and manage the digital communications calendar.
- Support the management of ASM website contact and support website maintenance.
- Support the strategic direction for and oversight of the ASM social medial platforms.
- Support the creation of content for the ASM monthly e-newsletter.
- Provide editorial oversight for ASM, including proofreading and copy-editing of digital newsletters, website content, advertisements, social media content, proposals, reports, and other digital communication pieces.
- Provide ongoing support to ASM fundraising events as needed to ensure all necessary assets are developed including advertising, social media, website content, press releases, sponsorship decks, thank you letters, event invitations, and assist with maintaining master database files and records.
- Communicate with key fundraising event stakeholders and varied internal and external audiences as well as provide a high level of support and service to volunteers, committees, donors, sponsors, vendors, and key stakeholders where it’s related to events.
- Create digital assets and advertising to support digital marketing initiatives.
- Photograph local content and develop a photo library.
- Develop video content for fundraising, branding, and awareness.
- Develop graphics to support digital communications.
- Maintain an organized file system of all digital assets, advertising, photos, videos, and graphics.
- Utilize analytics on a routine basis to optimize website and digital strategies.
- Provide input and contribute to ASiO communications.
- Continually measure and improve the user experience for all digital channels and ensure all digital fundraising efforts support brand strategy.
- Provide expertise and guidance on current and emerging trends and technologies within digital and user experience and marketing.

**Media and Public Relations**
- Cultivate and maintain media contacts; respond to and actively seek out media opportunities.
- Draft and issue media releases in consultation with ASM team.
- Respond to all general media inquiries and delegate this role as necessary depending on the nature of the inquiry.
- Recruit and manage internal and external spokespeople; ASM staff, care partners, PLWD, scientific, medical and advocacy experts.
- Train/coach staff and spokespeople for media interviews to ensure consistent corporate messaging and brand.
- Always represent the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka in a professional manner and act in the best interest of the organization.
- Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required or assigned.
