**Position**:Communications and Events Coordinator - 6 month contract with possibility of extension

**Salary/Hours**: $18.50/hr for 35hrs/week - with ability to work evenings and weekends

**Location**:Hybrid 50% In-person in the Willowdale community and 50% Virtual

**Position Summary**: Reporting to the Marketing and Events Manager, the Communications Coordinator and Events Coordinator is a motivated and enthusiastic writer, content creator who loves logistics. The Communications and Events Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing the organization's internal and external communication initiatives to various stakeholders and audiences including; neighbours, volunteers, small businesses, churches and agencies. This position will also focus on the needs of our smaller community events such as helping to coordinate our seniors and newcomers events.

**Details**: The Communications and Events Coordinator will be primarily responsible for:
**Marketing and Communications (35%)**
- Developing marketing campaigns for NeighbourLink’s programs and events ensuring uniformity of branding in content/messaging.
- Preparing key organization communications content including the annual report, fact sheets, brochures, news releases and posters.
- Designing and editing graphics for print or web as needed.
- Creating events on Eventbrite and sending out all necessary communications to participants.

**Social Media and Website Management (35%)**
- Developing new relevant and meaningful content on Canva to post on our social media platforms through Hootsuite on a regular basis. This includes writing copy, taking photos, creating graphics, and editing videos.
- Tracking Social Media Data and Analytics

**Events and Administration (30%)**
- Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, action and follow-up items.
- Ensure Marketing and Communications folders and contacts are up-to-date.
- Coordinating events alongside the Marketing and Events Manager.
- Being present to document the events

**Qualifications**:

- A bachelor's degree or diploma in communications, marketing, events management or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to write strategic communication pieces for an organization, including press releases, newsletters, website content, social media copy etc.
- Superb organizational, project and time management, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience in community engagement and outreach
- Excellent attention to detail; strong written and verbal communication, graphic design, interpersonal, research, and analytical skills.
- Energetic, friendly and respectful demeanor.
- Enjoys engaging people through social media, which includes, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Able to multitask and demonstrate flexibility in taking on new tasks as they arise.
- Ability to work well independently while contributing to a team environment.
