**OVERVIEW**
LSPS is the only North Shore organization whose mandate is to be a senior led and senior’s driven organization serving older adults and organizations through education, planning, research, collaboration, and information sharing. It acts as a strong voice for seniors and is a catalyst for action and change. Key issues LSPS addresses include housing, transportation, care giving, age and dementia friendly issues and working with organizations to find and fill gaps in services. To address these issues LSPS coordinates the Seniors Action Tables, sits (and acts in an advisory capacity) on various committees, coordinates the Seniors Coalition and Seniors

**Responsibilities**
Primarily, the Community Coordinator shall organize and chair the Seniors Action Tables and coordinate the Seniors Coalition, which meet monthly (except for July, August, and December).
The Community Coordinator also assists with the administration functions of the office and activities of projects as needed. The Community Coordinator also attends meetings of the organization as needed e.g., Seniors Working Group, Therapeutic Activation Program (TAPS)
Community of Practice meetings, and Board meetings.

The responsibilities for the Services to Seniors Coalition involves the following:

- Working with the Coordinator/Executive Director in organizing the recruitment of speakers
- Organizing the refreshments for the meeting if not on zoom
- Attending the meetings and taking the notes and distributing to Coordinator/Executive

Director.

The responsibilities for the SATS involves the following:
Organizing and sending out the agendas and minutes of the SATS to the members and to the
Coordinator/Executive Director of LSPS
- Recruiting seniors for the SATS
- Chairing the SATS, organizing the refreshments and overseeing the minute taking
- Helping each of the SATS discuss and prioritize activities and support the follow through of action. Implementing follow up activities as needed.

The responsibilities for assisting with administrative functions includes the following:

- Some bookkeeping, including data entry, and cheque writing.
- Filing
- Other administrative functions as necessary.

The responsibilities for assisting with other committees (e.g., Seniors Working Group, Board) involves:
Attending the meetings
- Taking the notes and sharing with the Coordinator/Executive Director if needed
- Assisting with recruitment of speakers if needed.

The responsibilities for assisting with Projects involves:

- Assisting with project work including (e.g., TAPS, Age Friendly and Connect and Prepare)

**Reporting**:
The Committee Coordinator reports to the Coordinator/Executive Director

**Qualifications**
- Experience in not-for-profit or public agency management, including working with seniors and volunteers.
- Experience in facilitation and coordination of groups
- Experience with computer programs, virtual platforms, and other technologies.

**Start Date**: September 11, 2023
**Job Status**: This is a 12-month part-time contract position, approximately 40 hours per month.
**Work Schedule**: to be worked out in conjunction with the Lionsview Coordinator/Executive
Director; days and hours flexible, except for the SAT, Coalition, Seniors Working Group and
Board meetings where times are fixed.
**Salary**: This contract is for 480 hours in a year. The rate is $28.00, plus mileage and as this is a contract position there will be no required deductions for EI, Taxes and CPP. If you charge GST this will be included in the $28.00. You will be compensated for out-of-pocket expenses as approved by the
Executive Director/Coordinator.
