**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Director, the Events & Administrative Assistant performs frontline event and administrative duties to support the CDCC. The incumbent works with the Director and CDCC team members to realize event related needs for university and community user groups. The incumbent will also assist with financial tracking and processing of expenditures, reconciling deposits and payments, general administrative duties, maintenance of reports and records, or other duties as assigned.

Please note, due to operational requirements, this position is scheduled to work Friday to Tuesday, typically 8am to 4pm or evenings 3pm to 11pm per event scheduling. Sufficient physical ability to work in a physically active setting is required, with work including: walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, moderate to heavy lifting, carrying, and beyond. Exposure to noise can be expected.

**Qualifications**:
**The incumbent must possess the following qualifications**:

- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to elicit and foster trust, using both diplomacy and tact when responding to client, stakeholder and guest requests in an events and learning environment.
- Ability to monitor front of house and general event support logistics
- Excellent knowledge of business practices, office organization, and procedures is required.
- Sound business writing skills, and sound financial administration experience with the ability to work accurately with numbers and other data.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt workflow and processes to meet organizational needs.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and a high degree of independence.
- Proficient working knowledge of the MS Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and research abilities using online resources.
- Experience working with financial bookkeeping software (including Carleton University eShop) considered as asset.
- Working knowledge of BookKing venue management software considered an asset.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends, as this position is scheduled to work Friday to Tuesday, typically 8am to 4pm or evenings 3pm to 11pm per event scheduling.

- The completion of a two-year college diploma in finance/bookkeeping or in a related administrative or arts field.
- 3 years of related experience involving front-line customer service support, including a minimum of one year of directly related events administration and front of house experience.
