**Job Summary**:
**Minimum Qualifications**:

- University Degree in a health-related discipline
- Three years relevant experience providing services to family members who’s loved one’s live with a serious mental health issues/illness and/or addictions issues.
- Experience in group development and facilitation experience an asset.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR an asset.
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) an asset.
- Knowledge of Peer models, Family Support best practices, as well Volunteer programming is an asset.
- French Language proficiency considered an asset.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Demonstrated ability to manage and minimize conflict between family members, with their loved ones, or with service providers.
- Excellent ability to empathize, build a therapeutic alliance, and provide a safer atmosphere for family members.
- Strong ability to direct sessions with individuals in the interest of providing new learning opportunities.
- Knowledge of family lived experience perspectives, and an ability to provide a balanced perspective between professional and peer values.
- Demonstrated in‐depth knowledge of mental health symptoms, issues, psychotropic medications, and associated side effects.
- Knowledge of issues related to addictions is an asset.
- Demonstrated assessment and crisis intervention skills with broad knowledge of emergency mental health and crisis stabilization. NCVI training an asset.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical reasoning and decision‐making skills.
- Ability to effectively utilize community resources and supports to meet the needs of family members.
- Ability to work under pressure within a changing environment.
- Working knowledge of the Health Care Consent Act, Mental Health Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act, and other relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to.
- Well‐developed problem‐solving, prioritization, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
- Basic proficiency in computer skills; MS Office preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License and have regular access to a reliable vehicle and provide proof of $2,000,000 vehicle insurance. Incumbent may be required to transport clients.
- Required to provide a satisfactory criminal reference check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to hire.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 11.25 per week

**Salary**: $29.70-$34.50 per hour
