**Job description**:
Read in 192 countries, the _Journal of Military, Veteran and Family Health (JMVFH)_ is the official, peer-reviewed scholarly journal of the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research. It maximizes the health and well-being of military members, Veterans, and their families by publishing world-class research to a broad, international, multidisciplinary audience.

Reporting to the Managing Editor, the Social Media Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in building brand awareness by advancing the journal’s social media marketing strategy to drive growth and engagement. The Coordinator is responsible for enhancing outreach activities and increasing the journal’s online profile through digital storytelling and content creation.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Recommend, develop, and post content on JMVFH social media platforms
- Create engaging, high-quality communications materials in multiple formats (written, video, etc.) for a variety of audiences
- Recommend, develop, and implement targeted marketing strategies to promote upcoming journal editions, articles, and special events
- Conduct image and multimedia research to support editorial content
- Conduct daily media monitoring, including promotion of JMVFH content in social and mainstream media
- Measure and analyze brand awareness, growth and engagement using tracking and reporting tools
- Generate social media platform health reports and make recommendations for improvements
- Support JMVFH events and other outreach activities
- Build relationships with a broad group of stakeholders, including researchers, health practitioners, administrators and policymakers
- Other duties as required in support of the journal, as assigned by the Managing Editor

**Qualifications**:

- Enrollment in, or completion of, a relevant university degree or college diploma program (e.g., social media/digital marketing, marketing, communications, etc.)
- Background in communications, marketing, business, health sciences, or research an asset
- Bilingual (French and English) preferred
- Demonstrated skills in communications, editing, marketing, promotion, and social media
- Proficiency writing for digital first environments and with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies
- Familiarity with peer-reviewed scientific journals an asset
- Familiarity with military and Veteran culture a strong asset

**Required skills**:

- Strong creative, accurate and concise writing skills
- Superior grasp of the English language, including spelling and grammar
- Ensuring all outgoing messaging aligns with JMVFH themes and goals
- Effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
- Demonstrated ability with various social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter)
- Proven ability to contribute to the growth and increased engagement of online audiences
- Familiarity with design and editing programs such as Canva, Trello, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and InDesign
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to interact with a wide variety of international stakeholders (military members, Veterans, researchers, policymakers, health practitioners, administrators, etc.)
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with people at all levels, internally and externally
- Resourcefulness and adaptability
- Ability to work independently, and within a team environment, with flexibility
- Ability to learn new software packages and adapt to emerging technology
- Identify and resolve potential issues when appropriate and use sound judgement to identify complex matters that require escalation to the Managing Editor
