Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for planning, organizing, and analyzing the operations of Human Resources for EPC Inc Canada
Essential
**Responsibilities**:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Human Resources operations and processes.
- Strategically plan for the organization's human capital needs, in concert with other departments and managers
- Benefits administration
- WSIB compliance and return to work processes
- Using and maintaining the HRIS systems (Plex)
- Payroll (ADP)
- Participate in the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures; provide interpretation as necessary; make suggestions and recommendations on any revisions
- Maintain positive working relationships with employees and the management team
- Administer occupational health and safety training for new hires
- Advise and assist departmental managers on the interpretation and administration of policies, programs, and best practices
- Identify job vacancies and implement plan for filling them
- Recruit and select new hires based on their knowledge, skills and abilities in partnership with hiring managers
- Prepare offer packages for new all new hires
- Inform employees about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion
- Advise managers on organizational matters such as discrimination, discipline, harassment, etc.
- Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering policies striving to resolve work-related issues
- Conduct training needs analyses of the entire workforce to determine appropriate and necessary training and development programs
- Compile statistical reports and metrics concerning personnel-related data such as turnover and absenteeism rates
- Analyze statistical reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement
- Conduct exit interviews
- Assist in the investigation and reporting of accidents/incidents
- Manages the Health and Safety Program (policies and training)
- Remain current with best practices, legislative changes, and industry standards
- Encourage and engage in social activities and charitable work with employees
- Other duties may be assigned as required
**Education and Job Requirements**
- CHRP designation required
- Post-Secondary diploma in Human Resources Management
- Two or more years Human Resources experience
- Strong ethical behavior and professional maturity
- In-depth knowledge of current legislations relating to employment standards to the capacity of providing counsel including but not exclusive of: Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workers' Compensation Act, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, etc.
- Ability to work well under pressure, individually and as part of a team
- Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Organized, and detail oriented
